Evaluating your best work.

In my opinion, my best work was "Drowning", when I tried to use Picasso's style. I drew a painting of alcohol bottles, with a skull, and a fish tank behind it all. It is a collage symbolizing how so many people are drowning themselves with alcohol. I used bright greens and pinks for the bottles to make them jump out at the viewer first, the skull is dark brown and black to resemble death. Then I painting a fish tank in the back ground to show water, and make it like the skull is drowning in alcohol. For the collage, I add actually plants, rocks, and a picture of a fish to give it realism. Also, I put money, bottle caps, and labels from bottles to add to the collage. This was a really fun piece, and enjoyed it a lot.

For my social issue project, I did it on medical healthcare, and why does it cost so much to have. I learned more then have Americans don't have medical help, because they can not afford it. I just think that healthcare should be for everyone, regardless if they have money. I used a lot of red to show all the blood loss from people that don't have healthcare, and make all the writing in bold black. It was my first time attaching printed material to my art work. I think I used to much gloss medium, but with practice, I believe I will get much better.

Taking Personal Responsibility
One goal in my life is to become a Dentist. This is what I am going to school for and finding out it is very difficult, and not that easy to obtain. Obstacles that stand in my way, are room in the class, grades, and money. There are only so many people that can get into the classes I need for achieving my goal. Also, I make pretty good grades with a 3.4, but to be a dentist, I'm told I need a 4.0 to be successful. Lastly is money, and of course it isn't cheap to go to medical school. The steps that I need to take to achieve my goal first finding other school or programs that have enough seats for me to go. Next I need to study harder so that I do better in my classes to bring my gpa up. For the money, there is always grants or scholarships that I can get into. All in all, all need it a lot of hard work and dedication to get my goal and become successful in my life.

Realistic painting

In the painting, I tried to paint my daughter, even though it didn't come out very well. This was probably the hard piece of them all. I used red for her dress, and brown for her hair. Her face however, was super tough. I tried to mix tan and brown for her complexion, but found out it was hard. Also, drawing her face was difficult. They seemed to all blend in together, because you can badly see her nose or eyes. This was still a fun piece to work on, but I need to practice more with blending my colors together. Also work on making my painting have more feeling, and look more like a real person.

Style painting "Drowning"

This was one favorite, and my option my best painting. I used Picasso as my style by added rocks, pictures, and bottle caps to make a collage. Also, I used bright colors for the bottle to make them stand out. I painted a fish tank behind them, to symbolize a drowning environment, because alcohol ruins so many peoples life. I added plants and rocks from my actual fish tank to give a 3d effect. Also I took labels off bottles to make the painting come to life. Then I add money to show how much is wasted on alcohol. I really enjoy making this piece and will continue making collage the rest of my life.

Painting 3 collage

This paintings were really funny to do. I added collage to my art to make fun and great pieces, if you do it right. The first one, I did on health care, and how you need money to have it. I feel like everyone should have insurance, even if they can afford it. I used a red back ground to symbolize blood that has been spilled because of people not having insurance. I kinda messed this piece up, because I spray acrylic coating on the painting first, when really I need to just spray the tissues. It still was fun adding collages to make the picture to show meaning and point out a issues.

Now the second one turn out much better. I used different colors to make kind of a ocean back ground and then add some Japanese influenced fish to make the painting come alive. That's the good thing about painting if you mess up, you can always try again and make it better. I really like both of this pieces and will defiantly being doing collages in the future.

Peaceful Night

This painting complementary analogous. The main colors I used were purple, red, and green.  What jumps out first in this painting is the palm tree. I also put gesso down to make the tree have a 3D effect. I made this piece dark, showing the night is coming to a end.
I also used black and white for changing the pigment of my main colors. I mostly used black to make the painting look like is was night time. I add white to the red to make the sun glare off the water, looking like a sun setting. This was a very fun piece and will be painting more very soon.

The Lonely Waterfall

This painting is a analogous piece. It is called "The Lonely Waterfall". I used green and blue for the main colors, and then mix them together with white and black to get different shades. This painting was hard, because I couldn't use any other color two and mix them together to altar the pigment.

I love to draw Mother Nature, but found it difficult to paint it. I used gesso to make the mountain rise off the canvas. I made the sky dark blue and covered it with clouds. The trees are in front of the mountain with them casting a shadow into the lake.
